Hey i'm Rebecca and to be honest i am a little nervous because i have never kept a blog or any sort of diary before, so this will be my first one ever.

I have just set up my first website for a unit i am currently studying, the assignment includes creating a webpage and keeping an upto date blog over the sememster. So far i haven't experienced many problems it has been pretty straight forward.
To start off with i had to choose a website technology, to do this i went to my units companion website (living and learning with technology), this site gives us all the information on our assignments and what we will need to create a website.
I chose to use webnode but i had a few problems with it so i switched to yola, which i would recommend to any first time website creaters.
 
Yola was really simple to use, to begin with i made a user account once that was done the site automatically gave me a template to work from. From here i changed the style of my webpage to something i personally liked, then i made my homepage. On my homepage i wrote a welcoming introduction and added some photos.

 Once that was completed i had to click on the link that said create new page to make my blog, that then added a new link on my homepage that then lead people to my blogging page. One problem i had during making my website was how to put in a hyperlink, i first off googled a few sites but nothing was very helpful for yola (the web design page i chose), so i decided to ask another student, she was actually very helpful because she had earlier had the same problems and had recieved help from our tutor.

This assignment has been really helpful and opened my mind to new things. I never thought i would be able to create my own website but this has shown me that it is easier then i initially thought. I hope i will be able to use my new knowledge in my chosen future career. :)
