1st week of university
I have gotten through my first week of university and it wasn't has scary as expected, i have made some friends and worked out my study schedele.
In my technology unit this week we were questioned with: "Why is it that students like to be told what to do?" In my opinion learning though a teacher is the easiest way to go about it. This is because for me if i don't quite understand something i like to have that authority figure there to help me to understand how something works, that way you get the right answer straight away instead of confusing yourself with different anwsers you research.
I think that this unit will challange people to do things for themselves and really get students to focus on how to go about self learning. I think that as future teachers we all need to be able to learn things for ourselves because once our degree is completed the learning does not stop. Teachers have to contuiniously keep upto date on new studies, and they have only themselves and collegues to help them learn. Much like this unit is doing, all of us are having to learn through our own research and by questioning others.
Another reason why this unit will be helpful for when we become teachers is because we all need to be able to use computers and other forms of technology. In this day an age it is a must to be able to be successful, and if we has teachers can not use it how do we expect the future generations to come to succeed in what they want to do if they never recieved the proper learning in their school years?
I am very much looking forward to this unit and everything i learn from it. I hope that we all learn a lot from it and it helps us on our journey to be the best possible teachers.
